Christmas Gone Already?

What? Christmas is over already? Phew!! It's so much fun to shop, and plan, and in my case scheme, during the holidays, but relief always comes when it's finished. My bleeding savings account breathes a sigh of relief, as do I. We were lucky this year to have all of our kids on Christmas morning. It was so much fun to see them each open their gifts, and scream with excitement at the things Santa brought. This year they even each received a little note from Mrs. Claus! My childhood tradition of waiting on the stairs for dad has conitnued into adulthood, and to our surprise, it wasn't dad we all were waiting for. Bailey and Hadlee both chose sleep over gifts, and it took quite a bit of persuasion to get them up. They finally all raced down the stairs, and amist the screams of excitement I think I heard Santa laughing to himself as wrapping paper began flying through the air.

We were also lucky to have all of Jason's family over on Christmas morning for a small gift exchange and a quick brunch. It's always funny to "listen-in" as all the kids tell each other what Santa brought. I am sure it was hard for Jason's sisters to pull their kids away from their Christmas long enough to get dressed and come to our house, and obviously my kids didn't worry about that. We were all still in our PJ's when the family arrived. Oh well, it's Christmas, right?

But, now its over, (sarcastic sniffle sniffle), we all had a fantastic Christmas, and if we can get the kids back to school our lives will resume! Merry Christmas to you ALL!!! And thanks for being a part of our lives!

As much fun as our Christmas was with Simon, I am kind of sad I wasn't there to see the chaos at your house! It looks like fun! I'm so glad you kept the sitting on the stairs tradition! As soon as we get our basement done we can also do that. Hopefully you did the classic "Oh my gosh...Did Santa leave his whole bag here" speech for the kids to hear! :)
