So, you know my husband, Mr. Confident-No-one-gets-one-over-on-me Soto? Well, his wife got him this year!! I always tell him that he is no fun because I can never surprise him. He knows me too well. And, although I think I slip and accidently give a clue I shouldn't, he ALWAYS knows what he is getting. Well this year he, for some reason, thought he was getting a gun safe for Christmas. (Great idea, but no.) I let him believe it, and maybe helped him think that's what it was. I had really bought him a snowmobile.
This is what I saw:

I let him see me with a measuring tape measuring different spots in the house, (would it fit here?) and maybe I picked up a brochure or two on gun safes and (oops) left them laying around the house. He was so sure that he was getting a gun safe. He told EVERYONE that his wife couldn't keep a secret, and that he knew everything. He was so proud of himself that he "figured me out!" Well he finally told me that he knew my secret. (dangit) So I asked him to please practice his surprised face so I didn't feel so bad. I even asked to see the face he had been practicing. He thought I had stored it at Randy's house, and even asked Misty if he could go downstairs. (they played along).
Well Christmas morning I told him I would be right back and I ran down to the office to hook up to the trailer and snowmobile. He assumed I went to get the gun safe. I came back with a card. He opened the card, which said to "put on his shoes and his surprised face and go outside." He jumped up and headed up the stairs, muscles engaged and ready to carry that heavy heavy thing inside the house.
This is what I saw:

And this is what HE saw:

He couldn't believe his eyes! I said "I am sorry it's not a gun safe... maybe the seat lifts up and you could put one or two in there." He hugged me, teared, up, and ran to see his new present. It was so GREAT! I finally got one over on him!!! It was a great Christmas! All day long I kept singing "I surprised you. I surprised you." He said it wasn't really a surprise, it was a SHOCK! I go him good!! It was awesome! He was so excited to try it out and to show his brother-in-laws, and he texted a picture message to everyone he knows. So, chalk a point up for Jen, and thanks to everyone who knew about it and didn't tell, (no, I really can't keep a secret), and special thanks to Casey and Angie who drove me to Roy to pick it up in the worst snow storm all season!

So exciting Jen!! Nothing like a hard working wife buying her husband a snowmobile!! That is the coolest! Hope everything is going well, we'll have to keep in touch through blogs! Bec
Your blog is so stinking cute! I'm so proud of my big sis! And major kudos on Jasons surprise! I would have never thought to go to the extremes you did (measuring and leaving brochures!) I'm super impressed at your 007 skills!
